FSL
A true East Side Story
In the late 70’s /Early 80’s a Stoner gang was formed in East Los called Folsom Street Locos.
FSL-13 was named after the main street where they held down, slanged loquera and represented.
During this time, FSL 13 was a popular spot to score frio’s , as they had the "bomb jugo".
Most locos/party jente in East Los unicorp. would get their jugo from Folsom St.
just like most of the Boyle Heights section of East Los got their jugo from Fickett St.
FSL came up big time from the profits of selling jugo. One of the first Stoner varrios to slang and start high rollin.
This was many years before crack cocaine was introduced to Los Angeles street scene.
FSL 13 were Chicano Rock n Roll gangsters, and were known as "snappers" as they would love to fight other Stoner hoods.
Folsom Street Locos was the first vatos, I personally ever saw, in East Los, who when they mobbed to say a "feria/carnival"
They would go deep. At least 40 - 50 heads and all of them wore a dark navy-blue football jersey that read:
Folsom St. Locos on the top portion of the jerseys and their placaso/nick name on the bottom of the jersey.
I would be lie-ing if I said I wasn't impressed. At that time (pre-rock cocaine) there were no real high rollers in East Los.
I had not seen any Chicano Stoner or Cholo gang do this before: Where every single member was is in uniform represting. This was the early 80's.
From my personal experience with these vatos, they were down vatos and would go toe to toe with rivals.
Even though they were rivals to my varrio: THE LOTT STONERS~SURENOS 13.
I considered Folsom St. Locos on the same level as us (TLS-13) as far a level of organization, riders, and dedicated soldiers.
Towards the latter part of the 80's, When the olden East Los varrios began recruiting all the Stoners and Taggers (who had just recently popped into the gang scene, The main heads from Folsom St. Locos got into Maravilla Rifa (MVR)
Because the main heads got into MVR, the rest followed suit.
To the best of my knowledge, the name Folsom St Locos was not used as a clica and the name vanished from the East Side altogether.
It is my personal opinion, the right after THE LOTT, Folsom St Locos was one of the craziest, downest Stoner varrios around during the Stoner Era. Even more so than Stoners 13 Locos (S13L's).
