One Five Five is one of the 3 oldest varrios from Comptone. La Cinco gang started out kicking it and hanging out on the small ONE BLOCK of 155 street just north of the Compton airport, and that’s where el corazon del varrio remains until these present times.
155 Original Neighborhood is on the maps today with the street names of..
N~> Compton Blvd
S ~> 156th Street
W ~> Central Avenue
E ~> Tajauta Avenue by Laurel Street School
.. nowadays you can extend their grounds West past Central all the way to Deodora Ave, and East to Wilmington Ave.
Back in the 1940s the pachucos from La Cinco were from the neighborhood which came to be known on city maps as the NESTOR TRACT, located on Nestor Ave, north of the present day Compton Airport; this was before the City of LA gave up the tract to the City Of Compton, so really La Cinco was part of LA City before it became part of The Hub.
The Barrio Logo has been the GRIM REAPER standing under a lampost.
It is unknown to me when Barrio La Cinco 155 adopted the "Compton Varrio" handle and got into that ranfla; grandfathered in for sure in what ever meeting there was, ke no?
